About RSF
Research Support Faculty (RSF) in the College of Forestry include the ranks of Faculty Research Assistant (FRA), Senior FRA, Research Associate, and Professional Faculty (research). Historically, a committee representing RSF in the Department of Forest Science was officially recognized with the adoption of a policy statement in September 2007 (Forest Science became Forest Ecosystems and Society). The RSF committee was brought to the level of a College Committee in January of 2012.
Mission Statement
The RSF Committee's mission is to assess and respond to the needs of the RSF community and interact with the College and Departments to enrich the RSF experience. We strive to foster a welcoming and supportive work environment for RSF; provide information, insight and guidance on career development and advancement; facilitate opportunities for RSF to expand and enhance their capacity and skill set; facilitate effective representation of RSF in the Departments, College and University; and enhance communication and networking among RSF, other faculty and staff.
These goals will be accomplished through the following:
- New employee orientation (and list of community resources)
- Peer mentoring
- Information on professional development opportunities
- List of RSF with FTE availability
The RSF Mentoring Program is looking for mentees and mentors.
